Excellent Mexican food! Our waiter was awesome and the atmosphere was great. If you make your way to or through Wendover, this place is a must. Just remember to bring cash. They don’t accept any other forms of payment.

If you go to Wendoever, you must to stop here. Homemade mexican food. The owner is kind and if you are allergic to some food he made as you want. It's cheap but so good.

Went in, waited for a good 15 minutes, no one came over to seat us or anything, only takes cash.

Service was A+ plus delicious food. Will become a regular stop when in Wendover. The salsa is hot and I think he rice was the best I've ever had.

I was actually really disappointed. We got lunch here after being told how wonderful the food was. Mine was dry, unseasoned, boring. I didn't end up eating much of it, and my husband, who normally can eat anything without complaint, even told me they couldn't do nachos. Who can't make good nachos? I have to say, that I either can't trust the suggestions from locals that this place is good, or we maybe went on a really really off day, but it was so off, we won't be back, which sucks, cause this town really doesn't have much to choose from.

Amazing food, service, and people. My wife and I come here after I buy my cannabis and grab a quick bite to eat. So... monthly. Make sure you bring cash to pay for your meal.

Best authentic Mexican food in Wendover.

Don't go by what it looks like outside or in. This dumpy looking place makes great food. I had a chili Verde burrito and it was delicious. My wife had chicken tacos and said they were some of the best she ever had.

Want good food without paying for a meal at one of the casinos? Come here, good portions and reasonable prices. Will definitely come out here again the next time I'm out in Wendover.

To start, I wish I could reply to the negative posts, Such as the one that said owner change. The only change in ownership was the gas station at the exit 4, which this incredible cafe was operated out of. As far as the cafe, it has only moved. Same wonderful owners (family owned and operated), the same great quality food, and some new employees. I have never had a bad experience. The prices can't be beat. Total excellence in service. As far as the person that said the steak was too "grisly".... gristle is the correct spelling. Suck it up, buttercup! We're talking authentic Mexican food, here. If you don't like it, that's okay. You can go pay more somewhere else for less food of worse quality being made by a bunch of gringos that don't know how to make the food they're serving. Enjoy. My family will keep coming back for more! !

Decent Mexican food. Both the Adobada And the salsa were lacking spice. Fries and ceviche tostada were good.

We found this little hole in the wall cafe on line while we were travelling. The comments about it were spot on. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. This is a cash-only cafe. No alcohol is served. I would have rated it higher if it had been a little more than surface cleaned, but we definitely would go there again.

Sweet baby burritos, the food at this little cafe is absolutely amazing! This family owned spot is a blend of Mexican and American fares, but you'd be silly to walk into this joint and order anything but the homeade mexican food. The staff was so friendly and fast and the food was to die for. Don't forget cash since they currently don't take cards. You won't regret it!

Classic stop when on the salt. Very busy during race week, but still got in right away with group of 9! They had added lots of outside seating. Foods decent.

My dad and I tore into the steak nachos. This place is amazing and the staff are so friendly. He also had enchiladas and I had a burrito. My dad scrapped the plate lol. The absolute best!

I've had authentic Mexican food made by my in-laws as well as at various restaurants in California and Texas. This definitely competes! This was one of the best meals I had on our 11-day 2,000 mile vacation. The staff was so friendly and my meal delicious. I ate so fast they probably thought I'd been in prison! It is cash-only, but the prices were more than reasonable. I recommend the guacamole as an appetizer and cheese quesadillas for the entree.

Just as good as ever...10 years after moving away from Wendover we finally had an opportunity to come back for a visit, and of course we weren't going to miss the chance to eat at "metro". The same guys are still there, still providing amazing service, and still never write down your order.Also still cash only, but very reasonable prices.If you find yourself in Wendover, avoid the casino food, and go to this place instead.It's worth noting that this not "americanized' Mexican food like many places, so you won't find smothered burritos slathered in cheese and enchilada sauce here, but the food is filling, flavorful, and fast.

Good food, fast service. Nothing fancy about the atmosphere, but there were plenty of great photos consistent with their salt flats theme. I didn't notice the "Cash Only" sign until we were done, almost had to spend the evening doing dishes. Prices were reasonable. Really wish my shrimp fajitas came out sizzling, or at least with sour cream and guac as in other photos, but they were still tasty.

Salt flats cafe is a great place to eat. My family and I eat there everytime we go to wendover. But they do not have enough staff for how busy they get and the cook needs more training with prepping food. It was so busy in there this morning that by the time I got my chicken fajitas it was cold, and i had to wait for my tortillas and when we asked another server for them he got an attitude because he was not the one that took our order. Then as I was picking through my food i noticed that I had shrimp with my chicken. I do not eat shrimp! Not to mention the cross contamination of foods. WHAT IF I WAS ALLERGIC? it was not ok and all they said was sorry it's too busy. They need more help especially on the weekends. And it's not the first time.

This place is one of the better places to eat in Wendover. They serve Mexican food and it's not bad. The chicken is better than their beef which is what I recommend. There's plenty of parking and the staff are very cheerful and helpful. The toilets are clean and so is the restaurant. The dining area is decorated by signed memorabilia from the events at the Bonneville salt flats.
